About

Elisa Pinto Abreu is a visual artist based in Spain. Her practice initially draws on Maurice Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology and an exploration of the body as a site of perception and experience. From there, her research shifts towards a relational understanding of reality, focusing on the connections between bodies, forms, and their surroundings beyond the perceptible. In dialogue with Gilbert Simondon, Carl Jung, and later the poetry of Chantal Maillard, she explores transformation, the emergence of form, and the relationship between the visible and the invisible through painting, textile, and installation.
